Uttarakhand Innovator Ravi Tamta Test-Flies Electric Personal Flying Vehicle HAPIDA SKYNeX


Almora, Uttarakhand: Ravi Tamta, an innovator from Kaflikhan village near Jageshwar Dham in Almora district, Uttarakhand, has successfully test-flown the prototype of HAPIDA SKYNeX, an electric-powered personal flying vehicle developed by his company, Hapida Sky Private Limited.

The test flight marks a significant milestone in Tamta’s years-long research and development efforts to create a new form of personal air mobility.

Electric Vehicle Designed for Personal Air Mobility

HAPIDA SKYNeX has been designed as an electric personal flying vehicle, with the aim of providing a cleaner and more flexible alternative to conventional ground transportation.

According to Tamta, the project focuses on developing personal air mobility solutions that are safe, sustainable and accessible, while keeping India’s evolving transportation requirements in mind.

The successful prototype flight demonstrates the progress made by the startup, although the vehicle remains at an early development stage.

Uttarakhand CM Congratulates Innovator

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami congratulated Ravi Tamta on X following the test flight.

Dhami described the achievement as an example of the talent, innovation and scientific mindset among the youth of Uttarakhand. He also said that Tamta’s work could inspire young innovators across the country.

More Testing and Regulatory Approvals Ahead

While the successful test flight is an important step, HAPIDA SKYNeX will need to undergo extensive testing and meet the required aviation and safety regulations before it can be considered for large-scale deployment.

The development of personal flying vehicles also involves challenges related to safety, infrastructure, airspace management, battery performance and regulatory compliance.

Tamta has previously worked on other innovations through his startup, including a smart bamboo walking stick and mobile phone charging shoes.

The HAPIDA SKYNeX project now moves into a crucial phase, with further testing and development expected before the electric flying vehicle can move closer to practical use.
