From Boardrooms To Bookshelves — The Universe Of Divya Ramaswamy

Some writers create stories from imagination, while others draw them from lived experiences. Divya Ramaswamy masterfully combines both, transforming the complexities of modern life into deeply relatable fiction that celebrates love, friendship, resilience, and human connection. A marketer by profession and a storyteller by passion, she has built a literary identity rooted in authenticity, emotional intelligence, and compelling character-driven narratives, balancing global boardrooms by day with unforgettable fictional worlds by night.

Published for the very first time at the young age of six, writing quickly became a lifelong companion. Over the years, her flair for storytelling evolved into an impressive body of work spanning journalism, poetry, fiction, and feature writing, featuring over 150 published by-lines across prominent newspapers and magazines in India and the United Arab Emirates, including Gulf Today, Deccan Herald, The Hindu BusinessLine, and Young Times. One of her earliest literary milestones came when her poem “Loneliness” found a place in the American Congress Library.

Divya’s academic background spans undergraduate degrees in Journalism, Psychology, Women’s Studies, and Business Administration—where she earned a Gold Medal in Women’s Studies—followed by a Master’s in Journalism and an MBA in Marketing from HEC Montreal, Canada. Parallel to her literary path, she has built an accomplished international corporate career as a Digital Sales and Marketing Strategy Leader, working with globally renowned organizations like Google, Expedia, and Citibank across India, the UAE, Canada, and Singapore.

This convergence of corporate insight and literary imagination came to life in her acclaimed 2024 contemporary romance, Love At First Byte. Inspired by professional life, the novel explores modern relationships against a corporate backdrop with refreshing honesty and emotional sophistication. It received glowing endorsements, with The Times of India describing it as “a masterpiece… a must read for all lovers of contemporary fiction,” alongside praise from The Pioneer and ANI.

Before this success, Divya demonstrated her versatility through The Monsoon Touch, a richly atmospheric thriller interwoven with romance. The novel earned the Fiction — Best Female Character award at the Ukiyoto Literary Awards in 2022 and was featured in Litteratura. Both novels have been represented by The Book Bakers, one of India’s leading literary agencies.

Her newest novel, Hearts And Hiccups, published by Srishti Publishers in 2026, represents her most emotionally intimate work to date. A heartfelt friends-to-lovers romance centered around college friendships, it explores healing, love, guilt, and second chances through characters like Nia, Amanda, and Jay. The novel reflects Divya’s enduring belief that meaningful friendships and authentic love form the strongest foundation for a fulfilling life.

Beyond writing, Divya teaches dance fitness through BollyDazz, experiments in the kitchen, maintains an active lifestyle through HIIT workouts and Muay Thai, and remains an avid reader. Today, she lives in Canada with her husband and their two cats, Bageera and Simba, continuing to create fiction that is emotionally authentic, intellectually engaging, and profoundly relatable.
