Amazon Introduces Bee Frontier AI Wearable and Bee Eclipse Phone Accessory

Amazon has introduced two new personal AI devices under its Bee brand, the Bee Frontier wearable and the Bee Eclipse phone attachment. Both products are designed to make everyday conversations more useful by turning them into summaries, reminders, to-do lists, and helpful insights.

The devices work with the Bee app, giving users a convenient way to revisit important discussions without having to remember every detail. Whether it is a meeting, a lecture, a brainstorming session, or a phone call, the idea is to help people keep track of what matters.

Bee Frontier: An AI Assistant You Can Wear

The Bee Frontier is designed for people who want an AI assistant that fits naturally into their daily routine. It can be worn on a soft silicone wristband or clipped onto clothing, making it easy to carry throughout the day.

Amazon is offering the wearable in three colour options: Lavender, Sage, and Onyx. The device features dual microphones with noise filtering to help capture conversations clearly. It also comes with an IP67 water-resistance rating, USB-C charging, and a battery that can last up to seven days.

Priced at $74.99, the Bee Frontier is available now. Its compact design and flexible wearing options make it suitable for people who want to capture useful information while going about their everyday activities.

Bee Eclipse Brings AI Features to Your Phone

For those who prefer a phone-based accessory, Amazon has also introduced the Bee Eclipse. This device attaches magnetically to the back of a smartphone and is roughly the size of a credit card.

The Eclipse measures just 4.6mm in thickness and weighs 48.9 grams. Despite its slim design, it features four MEMS microphones and an additional vibration microphone. This combination is designed to capture both sides of a phone call, along with conversations taking place in person.

Battery life is another notable feature. Amazon says the Eclipse can last for more than 21 days, making it a longer-lasting option for users who do not want to charge their AI accessory frequently.

The device will be available in Silver, Midnight, Honey, and Blush. It starts at $99.99 and is expected to go on sale soon.

Turning Conversations into Useful Information

Both Bee devices share the same core purpose. They listen to conversations and use AI to organise the information into summaries, reminders, action items, and other useful notes.

Users can access these summaries through the Bee mobile app or a newly introduced desktop app. The software also includes templates for different situations, such as attending lectures, participating in meetings, or sharing ideas during brainstorming sessions.

This approach could be particularly useful for people who regularly attend meetings or need to keep track of several conversations throughout the day. Instead of manually writing everything down, users can review organised notes later and focus more on the discussion itself.

Bee Pro Adds More Connected Features

Amazon is also offering a paid subscription called Bee Pro for users who want additional features. The subscription costs $11.99 per month or $99 per year, with a 30-day free period included.

With Bee Pro, users can connect services such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, Apple HealthKit, and Photos. These integrations are intended to bring more context into the Bee experience and help users manage information across their connected services.

The subscription also supports hands-free summaries through Alexa+. Amazon says users can ask Alexa+ for summaries and receive shopping suggestions on Amazon based on products or items mentioned in their conversations.

These features expand Bee beyond a simple conversation recorder. The goal is to make it a more connected personal assistant that can help users organise information and act on it.

Privacy Remains a Major Consideration

Devices that continuously listen to conversations naturally raise questions about privacy, particularly when other people may not realise that audio is being captured.

Amazon says both the Bee Frontier and Bee Eclipse use its Bee Private Compute system. According to the company, audio is processed in real time and then deleted rather than stored. Transcripts are encrypted using keys created and controlled by the user's device.

Amazon also states that it cannot access users' data unless they choose to share it. These protections are intended to give users greater control over their personal conversations and the information generated from them.

The devices also include physical controls. Each model can be switched on or off using a single button, while a visible status LED indicates when the device is active. The Bee Frontier can also be configured to switch itself off after a period of silence.

Users can delete their transcripts and summaries whenever they wish, giving them another way to manage the information collected by their devices.

The Importance of Consent

Even with privacy protections in place, recording conversations remains an important consideration for anyone using these products.

When the devices are switched on, they can capture spoken conversations involving people nearby. That means users need to consider the privacy and expectations of everyone involved, particularly in workplaces, classrooms, meetings, and other shared environments.

Amazon's own Bee Eclipse product listing points out that consent laws differ between US states and countries. It is the user's responsibility to inform other people and obtain permission where required. The devices do not automatically determine whether recording a particular conversation is legally permitted.

This makes awareness and responsible use essential. Before recording a conversation, users should understand the rules that apply in their location and respect the privacy of others.

A New Step Towards Everyday AI Assistance

With the Bee Frontier and Bee Eclipse, Amazon is exploring a more personal approach to AI. Rather than relying entirely on a smartphone app or a voice assistant that users must actively operate, these devices are designed to capture useful information from everyday conversations and turn it into something people can revisit and use.

The Bee Frontier offers a wearable format for those who want a lightweight, hands-free option, while the Bee Eclipse provides a phone attachment with a longer advertised battery life and dedicated microphone hardware.

Both products promise convenience, but their usefulness will ultimately depend on how well they capture conversations, organise information, and fit into people's daily routines. Privacy and consent will also remain central to their adoption.

For now, Amazon's new Bee devices offer another glimpse of how AI assistants could become a more regular part of everyday life, helping people remember discussions, organise tasks, and make better use of the information they encounter throughout the day.
