Bob Iger’s New Book, One Last Time, to Hit Shelves in March 2027
Former Disney CEO Bob Iger is set to return to the publishing world with One Last Time: Managing Crisis and Building Resilience at Disney, a new book offering an inside look at leadership, corporate challenges, and his second tenure at the Walt Disney Company. Published by Random House, the book is scheduled to arrive on March 2, 2027.
Iger, the bestselling author of The Ride of a Lifetime, has co-written the upcoming title with Dan Schwerin. The book will be available in hardcover and ebook formats, with an audiobook edition narrated by Iger himself releasing at the same time through Penguin Random House Audio.
An Inside Look at Disney’s Years of Crisis
One Last Time explores Iger’s return as Disney CEO in 2022 and the leadership challenges he faced during his second stint, which continued through 2026. What began as a return to a familiar role soon became a demanding period marked by corporate uncertainty, public scrutiny, and a series of complex challenges.
The book examines how Iger worked to reconnect Disney with its core values while laying the groundwork for the company’s future in an industry undergoing rapid change. It also reflects on the personal and professional lessons he learned while leading one of the world’s best-known entertainment companies through an extended period of instability.
Among the major events discussed are two hostile proxy battles and the 2023 writers’ and actors’ strikes. Iger also considers the difficult decisions leaders must make when faced with incomplete information, competing priorities, and intense pressure from employees, investors, audiences, and the public.

Leadership in a Rapidly Changing World
Beyond Disney’s internal struggles, the book addresses broader questions about modern leadership. Iger explores how companies can remain committed to their mission and values while navigating political divisions, public controversies, and the growing influence of artificial intelligence.
The book also examines high-profile situations, including ABC’s temporary suspension of Jimmy Kimmel, as examples of the complicated decisions that can arise when business interests, public expectations, and corporate responsibilities collide.
Through these experiences, Iger reflects on the importance of accountability, adaptability, creativity, and resilience. The central message is that leaders must be willing to acknowledge mistakes, learn from difficult moments, and find new ways to move forward when challenges become constant.
Iger Calls It a Comeback Story
Describing the book’s central theme, Iger presents One Last Time as a story about rebuilding and rediscovering what matters most to an organisation.
“This is a comeback story,” Iger says. “It’s about what Disney needed to find its way back to its core values and what that journey taught me about leading in a time of unprecedented challenge and change.”
The book promises readers a candid account of the decisions, setbacks, and lessons that shaped Iger’s later years at Disney. It may also offer valuable perspectives for business leaders, entrepreneurs, and readers interested in how organisations can navigate uncertainty without losing sight of their purpose.
