JLF Returns To New York: Review Information On Important Events
On September 12 and 13, the JLF international extension will return to the US, featuring an impressive lineup of speakers at several New York City locales.
This year marks the sixth, seventh, and ninth iterations of JLF Houston, JLF New York, and JLF Colorado, respectively. Due to the epidemic, the festivities were held online in 2020.
Before the forthcoming American version of the literary festival, JLF International released a teaser including clips from the previous edition’s events.
Festival director Sanjoy K. Roy will speak with acclaimed actor Madhur Jaffrey, a well-known representative of Indian food, on the first day of JLF New York 2023. Between 12:15 and 1:15 PM, Madhur Jaffrey: A Life in Food will be discussed at the National Arts Club. Ms. Jaffrey has acting roles ranging from this year’s And Just Like That to Merchant-Ivory’s critically acclaimed movie Shakespeare-Wallah. She will discuss her memories, the stage, and her life in food during the session.
The Indian American mathematician Mail Suri will speak with Patrick Honner about his book, How to Build the Universe Using Only Math, during a talk at the Asia Society on Day 2. From 4:30 to 5:15 PM, there will be a presentation titled “A Universe Built on Math: The Big Bang of Numbers.”
The Paradoxes of India, another important JLF New York event, will feature celebrated novelist and politician Shashi Tharoor in conversation with writer and journalist Seema Sirohi. The discussion will take place on September 13 from 6:30 to 7:15 PM and will center on discussions regarding India’s intellectual landscape with an emphasis on ideas, philosophies, and ideologies.
