In Vrindavan, India, the first Sainik school for girls opens.
In Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, the first Sainik school for girls in the nation was opened. The Vatsalya Gramme Parisar is home to the Samvid Gurukulam Balika Sainya Vidyalaya. Students will receive military training in addition to a CBSE curriculum. There will be 120 seats in the Sainik school. Before a merit list is released, chosen candidates must attend online counselling sessions following a written exam on January 21.
There will be three batches of girls admitted. They will receive obstacle course instruction and sports coaching from former soldiers or NCC trainers in addition to military training.
The school was dedicated to all girls in the nation by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh.
According to a statement from the defence ministry, the first Sainik school exclusively for girls, with a student body of about 870, was opened as part of an initiative to establish 100 new Sainik schools in partnership with NGOs, private, and state government schools in all states and UTs. To date, 42 of these schools have been established.
The government authorised the gradual admission of female pupils to Sainik schools beginning with the academic year 2021–2022 after the defence ministry’s trial project at Sainik school Chhingchhip in Mizoram proved successful.
