Amitabh Bachchan Unveils The Bachchans: A Saga of Excellence by SMM Ausaja, Published by Om Books International
December 19: Famous actor Amitabh Bachchan recently launched a book titled The Bachchans: A Saga of Excellence, written by SMM Ausaja. The book, published by Om Books International, is a beautiful visual history that covers three generations of the famous Bachchan family, making it an important part of India’s cinema heritage.
At the event, Amitabh Bachchan praised the book and thanked Ausaja for his hard work in preserving and documenting the lives of important people. “It is SMM Ausaja’s passion for archiving that has led to this book. I can’t speak much about myself, but I fully support the book and Ausaja’s efforts to document the lives of great individuals. In our country, it is important to record the history of cinema for future generations, and I’m very happy with his dedication,” said Bachchan, visibly emotional. Publishers Ajay Mago, Sanjay Mago, Vedant Mago, Shantanu Ray Chaudhuri (Editor-In-Chief of Om Books International), and filmmaker-archivist Shivendra Dungarpur were also present at the event.
The book, written by SMM Ausaja, a well-known film historian and memorabilia collector, follows his earlier successful books Bollywood in Posters and Bollywood – The Films, The Songs, The Stars, both of which were bestsellers.
The Bachchans: A Saga of Excellence tells the rich story of the Bachchan family, one of India’s most well-known families. It begins with the early years of Harivansh Rai Bachchan in Allahabad in the 1900s and takes us to the present day, covering the rising career of Agastya Nanda, the next generation of the family. The book shows over a hundred years of the family’s involvement with India’s culture and society.
The book also covers Harivansh Rai Bachchan’s life and literary achievements, the family’s struggles, and the rise of his sons Amitabh and Ajitabh. It also talks about the careers of Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bhaduri, Abhishek Bachchan, and Aishwarya Rai in the film industry.
SMM Ausaja, who is considered a close friend and supporter of Amitabh Bachchan, has spent many years collecting and preserving film-related memorabilia, making this book a fitting tribute to the family. It includes rare photos, posters, and images that provide fans with a unique look at the journey of this iconic family.
SMM Ausaja shared, “It’s been an honor to write about the Bachchans, given their extraordinary careers. Documenting their lives was a challenge, especially with finding rare visuals and accurate information on topics that weren’t widely known. I’m grateful that the family supported this project and trusted me. This is a 12-year labor of love that will inspire and impact generations of Indians worldwide.”
Publisher Ajay Mago added, “This book goes beyond the movies. It gives readers a closer look at the lives of the Bachchans, telling the story of fame, love, and strength. The Bachchans will take readers on a journey into the heart of Bollywood royalty, revealing the untold stories and the legacy of one of India’s most iconic families.”
