One in every three children has an adjustment problem, according to MindPeers’ “MindPeers Mental Strengths Research 2023” report.
70% of the young people were found to be very stressed in studies, and 50% of the young adults polled struggle with their work and careers. More than 72.5K Indian youth participated in the survey. Over 81% of those polled prefer mental health education to financial reward. Nearly 20% of respondents find relief from personal financial stress.
National, August 9 (GPN) 2023: According to a research report titled “MindPeers Mental Strengths Research 2023” published by MindPeers, a first-of-its-kind neuroscience- and evidence-based mental health platform, one in three adults, or more than 33% of the 72,500(Plus) responded adults, experience adjustment problems. The issues of money management, career worry, dwindling friendships, aging parents, and declining self-worth plague this adult group.
The study found that 70% of respondents said they were extremely stressed. As a result, the group is also shown to be experiencing low energy, which has a negative impact on burnout, lack of attention, and procrastination. According to the survey, 40% of those who sought therapy did so because of anxiety. On a scale of self-awareness called the Measure of “Self Expression,” this demographic performs better than average. This ability enables the young generation to control and regulate their emotions as and when pressures arise.
50 percent of those surveyed, according to the Mind Peers Mental Strengths Research 2023, said they have problems at work or in their careers. Ages 18 to 35 reported an imbalance between the leadership and aspirational measures, indicating a lack of focus among the respondents. Furthermore, over 81% of the contemporary workforce valued workplace mental health knowledge more than financial pay. The importance of a psychologically secure environment is shown as a key factor in determining employee pleasure at work.
The age group of 18 to 35 experiences 30% more stress from relationships and family than the average person, placing them below average on the “Connection” metric. Young adults who are raised in isolation tend to be lonely, which is why 25% of users seek treatment. Additionally, nearly 20% of those polled report experiencing stress over their financial condition, either now or in the future. On the “Financial Fitness” Measure, the same demographic performs below average. Lack of trust in financial judgments is fueled by this distant relationship with money. More than 89% of people are preoccupied about their financial situation all the time.
Commenting on the publication, Kanika Agarwal, the Co-Founder at MindPeers expressed, “Even with a ripe and skilled demographic dividend, the nation has a distressed young population at its hands, that needs direction more than instruction. As a mental health platform rooted in behaviour & neuroscience, MindPeers remains committed to addressing these challenges and providing accessible, comprehensive support to young adults struggling with mental health issues. Through awareness, education, and proactive interventions led by parents, educational institutions, employers, and policymakers, we can empower this demographic to navigate life’s challenges and bolster their mental strength.”
On joining forces with MindPeers as an Investor, Namita Thapar, Executive Director at Emcure Pharmaceuticals Ltd. said, “Mental Health has become a national crisis & the reason it will continue growing is due to the fact that it’s still considered a taboo & people don’t seek help. Secondly there is a shortage of affordable counsellors in this area. Open & candid conversations around this is a must which is why I have partnered with MindPeers which addresses both these gaps. The goal is to empower our youth who will be our future leaders & important contributors to take our nation to greater heights.”
In light of these sobering realizations, MindPeers is unwavering in its dedication to promoting mental toughness in young adults. MindPeers uses technology to gather, analyze, and integrate behavioral data regarding how our minds affect our lives by developing a strength-based strategy. They want to actively encourage people to overcome obstacles, put their well-being first, and lead satisfying lives via their neuroscience-based platform.
