My 60s, 70s, and 80s are covered in The Golden Years, according to Ruskin Bond’s latest book.
Author Ruskin Bond recently revealed information about his newest book ahead of his birthday on May 19. The author has stated that his book, The Golden Years, is about the last 20 to 30 years of his life.
My most recent book is titled “The Golden Years.” This time, it’s neither strictly speaking a children’s book, nor is it a well-known novel or collection of short tales for my audience. You could call it a self-help book, I think,” Bond stated in a video recently broadcast by HarperCollins India, the publisher of the book.
Revealing details about the book, Bond further said, “It’s called The Golden Years’ because it is really about the last 20, 30 years of my life; my 60s, 70s and 80s. It is addressed to other people who are growing up and growing old, and sometimes worried about the future; whether old age will be a pleasant experience. I guess, it isn’t always but it can be and should be. In my case, I think, I would say the 20 years have been the best professionally and personally in many ways. In this book, in 60 short chapters I have told my friends, my readers, what it’s like to be growing old and the pleasant side of it.” Publisher HarperCollins India says Bond’s latest book is “written in his trademark warm, witty, whimsical style and his marvellously simple prose”.
Ruskin Bond turns 89 years old this month. He was born on May 19, 1934.
