Creators in the Age of AI: Who Really Benefits?

The creative world is changing fast. Artificial intelligence is reshaping how content is made and used. Rules and policies are struggling to keep up. Many creators now wonder where they stand and how they will earn fairly. The International Federation of Reproduction Rights Organisations addresses these concerns in two recent publications.

The first report, developed with Eleonora Rosati, looks at how AI creates content today. It raises key questions about ownership, data sources, and legal differences across countries. It does not offer final answers but explains the current situation clearly.

The second report focuses on private copying. It was created with CISAC, BIEM, and Stichting de Thuiskopie. It highlights a simple idea: creators should still receive compensation, even when content is copied for personal use.

These reports come at an important time. AI is growing quickly, while older systems still support creators in the background. Both affect how creators earn. IFRRO continues to push for fair pay and better protection. The future remains uncertain, but the conversation is now more open and clear.
