Tamil Nadu based writer creates India’s first Mirror Edition book, enters India Book of Records
Writer and economic journalist Nagaraj Balasubramaniam from Coimbatore- Tamil Nadu has achieved a unique milestone with the release of his latest book, The Behavioral Investor. Along with the regular version, Nagaraj introduced a Mirror Edition of the book the first of its kind in India which has earned him a place in the India Book of Records.
A Mirror Edition is a special format where every page, from the cover to the content, is printed in reverse. It can only be read with the help of a mirror, making it an unusual and thought-provoking reading experience.
The book was published by New Delhi-based Adhyyan Books. At the launch event in Coimbatore, the standard edition was released by Prof. Velraj, Former Vice-Chancellor of Anna University, with the first copy received by Prof. Aman Kumar Dubey, MBA (IEV) Program Chairperson at Kumaraguru College of Technology. The Mirror Edition was unveiled by popular YouTuber and orator Hussain Ahmed, Founder of Cheran Academy, and its first copy was received by orator Gurujnanambika.
Nagaraj, an IIM Lucknow alumnus and NSE-certified market professional, has over two decades of experience as a financial journalist and counselor. He is also a certified mutual fund distributor and is widely known for simplifying complex financial concepts for the general public.
His fourth book, The Behavioral Investor: Why Smart People Make Poor Financial Choices, dives into the fascinating world of behavioral finance. Through scientific studies and real-life examples, it explains how emotions and cognitive biases often lead even the smartest investors to make costly mistakes. The book also offers strategies to help readers recognize these pitfalls, embrace uncertainty, and build wealth with discipline.
Speaking about his innovative Mirror Edition, Nagaraj said, “The Standard Edition helps readers overcome decision-making biases, while the Mirror Edition is about shifting perspectives. It’s a reminder that the way we ‘see’ something can completely change how we understand it much like behavioral finance challenges us to question our mental shortcuts.”
This Mirror Edition has already been acknowledged internationally by the London Book of World Records (July 2025) and now holds a national record with the India Book of Records.
The launch event was organized by Handcraft Events Studioz in Coimbatore. Notable guests included VS Chandirakumar, Founder of Valam (NGO); RV Sivakumar, Founder of RV Garments; along with the President and Members of the Rotary Club of Coimbatore Blossom.
With its mix of financial wisdom, psychology, and creativity in publishing, The Behavioral Investor marks an important milestone not just for readers but also for Indian literature.
