At the Delhi Book Fair 2023, Publications Division, the flagship publishing firm of the Indian government, won the silver medal for Excellence in Display. The prize was given out at the Book Fair’s final awards event, which took place today, August 2, 2023, at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. In the presence of top officers from the Publications Division, the India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO), the Federation of Indian Publishers (FIP), and the whole Publications Division organizing team, Ms. Anupama Bhatnagar, head and director general of the division, accepted the award.
The ITPO and FIP collaborated to host the 27th Delhi Book Fair in Pragati Maidan in New Delhi from July 29 to August 2, 2023. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting’s Publications Division displayed its books and magazines at Stall No. 12 in Hall No. 11 of Pragati Maidan.
The visitors were quite complimentary of the gorgeous assortment of books that Publications Division had on display. Biographies, reference books, children’s literature, nation-building, history, and heritage were among the topics covered in the volumes. The collection of books includes deluxe tomes on Rashtrapati Bhavan and compilations of presidents’, vice presidents’, and prime ministers’ speeches that were only available from the Division. Visitors also expressed admiration for these.
One of the biggest draws for those visiting the stalls was the popular reference annual published by the Division called “India/Bharat.” Visitors also favored the Division’s wonderful visual publications on art and culture. Information & Broadcasting Secretary Shri Apurva Chandra yesterday announced the publication of the Division’s special book, “Yojana Classics.” The book will soon be available at the Soochna Bhawan location of the Publications Division Book Gallery as well as online at www.publicationsdivision.nic.in.
Aside from books, the visitors also expressed their earnest appreciation for the widely read and well-known journals published by Publications Division, including Yojana, Kurukshetra, Aajkal, and Bal Bharti. Visitors also appreciated the Division’s monthly publication Employment News/Rozgar Samachar for its reliable and helpful employment updates.
