Manu Bhaker wons Another Medal to Her Glorious Career with Bronze at Asian Shooting Championship
Ace Indian shooter Manu Bhaker once again proved her on the international stage by clinching a bronze medal in the women’s 10 m air pistol event at the Asian Shooting Championship, held on August 19, 2025.
This achievement comes as yet another shining moment in her career, adding to the string of laurels she has already earned for the country. Bhaker, who has been one of India’s brightest shooting stars for the past several years, displayed remarkable calm and precision under pressure, ultimately securing a podium finish against some of Asia’s finest competitors.
The bronze medal at the continental championship is especially significant because it follows her historic performance at the Paris 2024 Olympics, where she made history by winning two bronze medals, one in the individual 10 m air pistol event and another in the mixed team category alongside Sarabjot Singh. With those victories, she became the first Indian woman shooter to win an Olympic medal and the first Indian to win multiple medals in a single edition of the Games.
Her journey has been one of resilience and determination. After facing heartbreak at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Manu bounced back stronger than ever, guided by her mental strength and the wisdom she drew from motivational verses of the Bhagavad Gita. Her return to form was also credited to the renewed mentorship of coach Jaspal Rana, under whom she regained her rhythm ahead of the Paris Games.
Now, by securing a bronze at the Asian Shooting Championship, This medal underlines her ability to maintain peak performance even after the high of the Olympics, signaling that she is prepared to continue leading India’s charge in upcoming global competitions.
For Indian sports fans, Manu Bhaker’s medal is more than just another addition to the tally it is an inspiration, a testament to the power of perseverance, and a glimpse into the bright future of Indian shooting.
