Lucknow’s nine-day Gomti Book Fest will begin on November 9.
The festival, organized in collaboration with the Union Ministry of Education and the National Book Trust (NBT), will begin on November 17 along the capital city’s riverbanks.
Beginning on Saturday, November 9, the event will have multiple sections, such as a Children’s Corner, Book Street, Lekhakganj, a Youth Corner, and a Digital Reading Corner.
Book Street will have 150 publisher stands from all around India, according to Amit Singh, sales and marketing manager at NBT.
“This year’s theme celebrates various storytelling arts through events such as film festivals, puppetry, poetry, dastangoi, dance drama, and creative writing. A Digital Reading Corner will also be included in the program,” Singh elaborated.
In addition to seminars offered by renowned authors, educators, and artists, the festival will provide imaginative activities for kids and young people. Filmmaker and writer Muzaffar Ali, para-athletes Preeti Pal and Sunira, dastango Himanshu Bajpai, singer Phunchok Ladakhi, novelists Anand Neelkanthan and Ambalika Bhat, singer Indira Naik, and poet Chinmayi Tripathi are among the prominent people attending the festival.
“The festival aims to encourage reading among individuals of all ages. This year, we are introducing various forms of creative expression as part of the initiative,” Singh stated.
Throughout the nine days, the festival will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and cultural programs will commence daily at 6 p.m.
