Book Review – Balan And Dheera: Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam By Mayank Mahajan
“Sometimes it is not easy to explain certain course of action that occurred long back in the ancient era, yet some believe them to be true events, which is their belief and needs to be respected. While the rest calls those extraordinary events as mythology, as they do not find any logical explanations for those events!”
It is hard to put down a book, when the writer makes sure to write a compelling storyline with all the momentous events mentioned in the plot. Well, such is the case of this religious & mythological title, “Balan & Dheera: Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” by Author Mayank Mahajan. The book is spectacular mix of extraordinary events and the actions that occurred in an era long back, when there was a fight between the good and the evil. The readers also needs to note that this novel is the sequel of “Balan and Dheera: A Tale of Kaliyuga,” which too had been an incredible and noteworthy novel.
Author’s Background: The Author, Mayank Mahajan is an entrepreneur, with an innate affinity for creative fantasies. He is a fictional novel writer, and ‘Balan & Dheera – Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ is his second book. The previous one, ‘Balan & Dheera – A Tale of Kaliyuga’ was published by Authorspress in 2020, and was well received with some excellent reviews from the readers and press. He has been weaving short stories and poetry from a young age. Although many things in life went differently from what he had desired, the passion for creative thinking and writing never faded.
Born and brought up in a family with a wealth of cultural values, the Author has had many spiritual experiences of his own that have shaped the ideals he believes in. His writing provokes the readers to look hard at the world around them, and introspect themselves in terms of the existential laws of the Cosmos. With a unique writing style, which blends the thrill of a modern day sci-fi mystery into the enigma of the ancient Hindu Knowledge, his work will tickle the imagination of avid readers of all fantasy genres.
Book’s Introduction: This religious and mythological title, “Balan & Dheera: Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” is actually the sequel of the first volume, “Balan & Dheera: A Tale of Kaliyuga!” In which, Author Mayank Mahajan portrayed that how the world got inflicted upon by the horrors of the demonic being – Raktabija. After suffering an unimaginable ordeal, that caused the collapse of society, the human race survives its doom because of the appearance of humanity’s eternal saviour, Lord Shiva, in the form of Dheera.
Well, in this second instalment of the volume, “Balan & Dheera: Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”, the story progresses with how the world finally starts to regain balance after the catastrophic events brought upon by Balan. Further, the plot reveals that how the spirit of harmony gets echoed through the streets of the world, leaving Baij Nath with the belief that the human race would someday be finally unified. However, lurking in the shadows, a sinister mind, using obscure knowledge salvaged from Balan’s incident, has silently set the next chain of destructive events into motion!
Book Title: The title, “Balan & Dheera: Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” for this book, which is a religious & mythological novel is certainly an appropriate one, with reference to the collection of chapters added to this book by the Author. In addition, it is a very ‘Catchy Title’ and this is something, which makes the book even more interesting, as the title itself compels you to pick up this book for a read. In this case, the title is giving a very interesting as well as an optimistic vibe so you would feel the urge to go inside the chapters and try to understand the Author’s expression of words.
Readers’ Connect: The book presents the readers with a story that is bound to mesmerize them. Basically, the Author is trying to highlight the war between the good and evil and this is something, which is something that the readers loves to read. Moreover, the aim to present such extraordinary events through his book series, where even the Lords have to make their presence, the Author had certainly grabbed the interest of his readers. In addition, the lucid flow in the narration of the plot and the brilliant storyline is like adding cherry on the top!
Book’s Verdict: This book “Balan & Dheera: Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” certainly carries a great deal of potential to appeal to the readers. From the cover of the book to the title and the story inside the book, everything simply makes sense and appeals to the readers to pick it up and give it a chance, which the book very much deserves too! The author has made a praise worthy effort with the storyline of his novel, making it a Reading Worthy title in all senses. The book is bit different from the everyday novels that we see around and this uniqueness too stands out as a prime reason for the readers to give a fair chance to the work of Author Mayank Mahajan!
