Author Story Article of Ravi Ranjan Goswami being featured at The Literature Today Magazine Vol 2, Issue 3

Ravi Ranjan Goswami is a native of Jhansi, a historic city made famous by its brave queen Lakshmibai, where his father, Late Shri Purushottam Das Goswami, worked in the Railways. His mother late Shrimati Bhagwatidevi was a god-fearing housewife.

He completed his schooling at Lokmanya Tilak school, and SPI inter-college, Jhansi. He passed B. Sc from Bipin Bihari Degree, College of the Bundelkhand University, Jhansi, and earned his degree of M.Sc (Physics) from the Agra college of the Agra University. Then he joined Indian customs as a preventive officer. Subsequently, he became an IRS (Indian Revenue Service) officer. He retired as an Assistant Commissioner of Customs. 

Reading and writing was his hobby. He started writing when he was in junior high school. Then he wrote Hindi poems, which got published in the local newspaper and school magazine.

Now he is living in Cochin and pursuing his passion for writing. He is a bilingual writer who writes poetry in Hindi and prose in Hindi and English. He especially enjoys telling stories. The author has written over 20 books across multiple genres, including Sci-fi, fantasy, crime, thriller, mythology, and romance. The story of his latest book, ‘Asht Yogi,’ is fiction based on Yoga and Tantra. Guru Vishnudev is a perfect yogi. Whatever he does, it is good for the nation and humanity. He plans to create an army of eight accomplished Youth Yogis who will help people when a disaster strikes India. Envious of the Yoga Guru’s powers, there is a Tantric who tries to harass him with black magic. However, the purpose of the author is to entertain the readers. Along with the entertainment, while reading this short novel, the readers who are unaware of yoga will have an Idea about yoga, and curiosity towards yoga will increase. Ravi Ranjan Goswami received the Criticspace literary award 22, Best Indian author for The Asht Yogis (English translation of अष्ट योगी।)

He has published poetry, short stories, novels, and novellas in Hindi and English. His writings are, however, famous among Hindi readers and he is known to a wider audience as an established Hindi writer.

His other popular titles are Luteron ka Teela, Chambal, Nakam Dushman, Love marriage, It so Happened, Palayan, Parallel Love, Love and Lust, Providence, Manav The Human, The Seven shades, Foiled, and Asht Yogikal (Malayalam translation of Asht Yogi) It will be interesting to read the synopsis of some of these books. Luteron ka Teela, Chambal It is a small story about a bandit in the Chambal. Kailash Pandey, a bandit, abducts a bunch of people who are returning from a marriage. The bandits leave the bride but kidnap the groom, his father, and a few more people and demand ransom. But something happens, which causes the change of heart in Kailash, who surrenders unconditionally to the Police.

Foiled, The enemy’s Plan.

Rajesh is the central protagonist of this novella. He is a spy on a mission to get information about the terrorists’ next step. Rajesh collects pieces of information, and the government manages to stop it after hurdles.

Love Marriage

For an arranged marriage, when the boy and his family like the girl, the next event should be a marriage between the boy and the girl. In this story, even after liking the girl, the boy’s family backs out because the girl’s family cannot fulfill the demand of the boy’s father and marriage becomes doubtful. The girl’s practical approach and the advice and plan of a close friend of the boy made the marriage happily possible.

Manav

Chagan had a stronghold in his area, and as the MLA, he commanded a certain respect. This status led his younger brother Magan, who was still a student pursuing an LLB, to do things that would have otherwise put him into police custody. Enter Manav, once a member of Chagan’s party, now an upcoming reformed politician. Magan and Manav lock horns, and it is up to Chagan to resolve the issue between these two hot-headed young men before it turns for the worse and destroys his career. Who will win this war of right and wrong?

Parallel Love

Madhu was the new college girl and had already driven all the guys crazy with her looks. Rajesh got a chance to meet Madhu at the badminton selection venue, and they also won the University Badminton Championship together.
