Details on ISRO’s free certification programmes in geographic information systems, remote sensing, and other subjects can be found here.
Free certificate programs in remote sensing, geographic information system (GIS), and global navigation satellite system (GNSS) technologies are available from the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), a division of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).
Applications for these certification courses at IIRS are accepted from students, researchers, university teachers, technical and scientific workers, and others in connected fields. Classes give anyone interested in these fields the chance to learn more.
These courses are accessible to a large number of students because they are supplied with 10,000 seats for the full course and an extra 5,000 seats for separate modules. The coordinators of nodal centers are also allotted 25 seats for every course. The courses are provided without charge at no cost.
Each participant will get a certificate of course completion after finishing at least 70% of the total number of session hours. Through the official website, participants can submit an application.
The practical uses of remote sensing and GIS in a range of fields, such as forestry, agriculture, ecology, geoscience and atmospheric sciences, urban and regional studies, and water resources, will be examined in these courses.
Participants can access lectures, video sessions that have been recorded, open-source software, demonstration materials, and useful insights and relevant skills. The ISRO Learning Management System and E-CLASS both provide access to these resources.
Regardless of their academic year, technical and scientific staff from the federal or state governments, professors and researchers from colleges and universities, as well as experts in technical and scientific domains, are all eligible to apply for this chance. Registration is open from October 16 to November 3, 2023, and the course runs from November 6 to November 17, 2023.
