BYJU’S will report its 2022 audited earnings in September and its 2023 results in December.
After Deloitte Haskins and Sells resigned as auditor due to “long-delayed” financial statements, edtech company BYJU’S recently announced the appointment of BDO (MSKA & Associates) as its statutory auditors for the next five years. The company also informed investors that the company will file audited earnings for the year 2022 in September.
According to the corporation, the 2023 results will be disclosed in December, according to Reuters, which quoted a source with firsthand knowledge of the situation.
Deloitte, who was contracted to audit Byju’s until 2025, announced its mid-term resignation with “immediate effect” and the justification that the company’s financial results were “long overdue.”
Three Byju board members have left, including Chan Zuckerberg’s Vivian Wu, Russell Dreisenstock of Prosus, and G.V. Ravishankar, MD of early investor Peak XV Partners (previously Sequoia Capital India). Even though BYJU’S refuted the resignation reports, the reasons for the resignations were not immediately clear.
“BYJU’S firmly denies these claims and urges media publications to refrain from spreading unverified information or engaging in baseless speculation. Any significant developments or changes within our organization are shared through official channels and announcements.
“We request media outlets to rely on verified sources and official statements for accurate information regarding BYJU’S,” a company spokesperson had said.
