Kalinga Literature Festival to be held from February 24-26, 2023
The Kalinga Literature Festival (KLF) has been rescheduled and will now be held from February 24-26, 2023. Earlier this festival was scheduled to be held in Bhubaneswar from 16-20 December. Around 400 personalities from the world of literature, cinema, media and politics will gather in Bhubaneswar to deliberate on the topic ‘India and the World’.
India writes in many languages and speaks in many voices. The ‘Marg’ and ‘Desi’ traditions will be showcased at the festival to promote deeper inclusivity in the nation, language and folklore.
The three-day festival will cover many dimensions of the interrelationships between literature, freedom, republican values, cultural diversity and social equality.
Major sessions will be on topics such as democracy, cultural nationalism, generation, Indian languages, publishing industry, mythology, media, markets, children, women, transgenders, civic engagement, cinema, sports, ethics, discrimination, revolutions, peace building.
There will be several one-to-one sessions with leading experts on the topics. There will be storytelling sessions that promise to add new flavor to the literary spirit of the festival. In addition, more than 30 new books and monographs will be released during the festival.
Four awards in literature will be presented during the festival – Kalinga Literary Award (for an eminent writer in Odia), Kalinga International Literary Award (for a writer in any global language), Kalinga Karubaki Literary Award (for women writers) and Kalinga Literary Yuva Puraskar (for a young writer in any global language).
