The 13th Khushwant Singh Litfest will take place in Kasauli on October 18.
Between October 18 and October 20, Kasauli will host the 13th Khushwant Singh Literary Festival. “Resilience and Renewal” is the Litfest’s theme.
William Dalrymple, Imtiaz Ali, Arundhathi Subramaniam (one of the best poets writing in India today), L. Subramaniuam (God of Indian violin), Amitabh Kant, Anindya Roy, Devdutt Pattanai, and MP Manish Tiwari are among the galaxy of speakers participating in the Litfest, according to Rahul Singh, director of the Khushwant Singh Literary Festival (KSLF), who spoke to members of the media.T
According to him, Indo-Pak relations require a new beginning in order to strengthen neighbourhood ties and rekindle the spirit of social and cultural affinities. Restoring people-to-people communication between the two Punjabs is urgently needed, according to Rahul. Rahul cited his father Khuswant Singh’s epic work Train to Pakistan as evidence that repairing social and cultural links might end the thaw between India and Pakistan.
In essence, the KSLF honours the ideals and vision of renowned author Khushwant Singh by celebrating literature with a focus on Punjab and Punjabi culture.
Thirteen years ago, the Khushwant Singh literary festival was established in the little hill town of Kasauli, where Khushwant Singh would express his thoughts and vision in his villa, he added.
