2023 Oxford Bookstore Art Book Prize Longlist Announced
The longlist for the inaugural Oxford Bookstore Art Book Prize 2023, which honours the cover art of 11 Indian art books, has been made public in collaboration with the Visual Arts Gallery. H.E. André Corrêa do Lago, the Brazilian ambassador to India, Sanjay Bhattacharya, a painter, Gautam Bhatia, an architect, Priti Paul, the director of the Apeejay Surrendra Group, and Dr. Alka Pande, the curator of the Visual Arts Gallery made up the jury.
The longlisted books are as follows:
1. Geeta Khanna’s Style of India (Hachette India)
2. Anahita Dhondy’s Parsi Kitchen (HarperCollins Design)
3. Roda Ahluwalia (editor) of Reflections on Mughal Art and Culture (Niyogi Books)
4. Satyabrata Rout’s Scenography: An Indian Perspective (Niyogi Books)
5. Raghu Rai and Gurmeet S Rai’s Amritsar: A City in Remembrance (Om Books International)
6. Shubha Vilas’s Vehicles of God: Shiva and Nandi The Bull (Om Books International)
7. Rajiv Eipe’s Dugga (Pratham Books)
8. Dikshu C. Kukreja’s CPKA: Five Decades of India’s Built Environment (Roli Books)
9. Paul Michael Taylor and Sonia Dhami’s Sikh Art: From the Kapany Collection (Roli Books)
10. Phyllida Jay’s Inspired by India: How India Transformed Global Design (Roli Books)
11. Prasanna Pandarinathan’s Ammi: An Expression of Love… From the Kitchen of My Mother (Rupa Publications)
