The prestigious KISS Humanitarian Award is given to Bill Gates in 2023.
Along with alumni, KIIT and KISS personnel and students participated virtually in the award event. One of the event’s most memorable moments was when Mr. Gates, in response to a question from a KISS alumna, had a profound discussion about gender equality.
In a noteworthy acknowledgment of his charitable endeavors, prominent worldwide philanthropist Mr. Bill Gates—co-founder of Microsoft and co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation—was bestowed with the KISS Humanitarian Award 2023. The event, which honored Mr. Gates for his immeasurable contributions to improving global health and education as well as combating climate change with cutting-edge technological solutions meant to lessen inequality, took place in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, on February 28, 2024.

Mr. Gates received the KISS Humanitarian Award, a recognition for individuals and organizations that embody humanitarian work worldwide. The award, initiated in 2008 by Prof. Achyuta Samanta, consists of a citation scroll and a gold-plated trophy with a golden heart symbolizing purity, kindness, prosperity, and hope. The award has been awarded to global leaders, Nobel laureates, and notable figures from various sectors, showcasing its international appeal and respect. Gates congratulated Dr. Samanta on his transformative work and the importance of civic engagement.
