NIF has released the ten-book longlist for its 2024 The nonfiction Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay Book Prize
The New India Foundation will reveal the winner of the prize in November, and the shortlist in September.
The Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay NIF Book Prize, which celebrates nonfiction works concerning modern and current Indian history, has released its shortlist for 2024. The announcement was made by the New India Foundation. There will be a cash prize of Rs 15 lakh given to the winning author.
The winner will be revealed in November, and the shortlist in September. The winning author will speak with an NIF Trustee on December 14, 2024, during the Bangalore Literature Festival.
The political scientist Niraja Gopal Jayal is the chair of this year’s jury, which also includes public policy scholar Yamini Aiyar, businessman Manish Sabharwal, writer and former diplomat Navtej Sarna, lawyer Rahul Matthan, and historian Srinath Raghavan.
“The landscape of Indian non-fiction today is prolific, exciting and constantly pushing boundaries, and we congratulate all the nominated authors and their publishers,” said the jury about the longlist.
