Lucknow Hosts National Book Fair for the 22nd time with ‘Vision 2047’ Focus

The 22nd edition of the National Book Fair opened at Balrampur Garden in Lucknow, inaugurated by Governor Anandiben Patel. Running through September 14, the 11-day event is centered around the theme Vision 2047: Developed India, Developed State.

During her visit, the Governor explored various stalls and personally purchased titles on the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and the works of Swami Vivekananda. She was also presented with several books by publishers, including a miniature one-inch copy of the Gita.

The fair, open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. with free entry, hosts more than 120 stalls representing over 50 publishing houses from across the country as well as local names. Visitors can browse an extensive range of literature in Hindi, English, and regional languages, spanning genres from educational texts to children’s stories. All books are available at a minimum discount of 10 percent.

Beyond book shopping, the fair offers a cultural experience with poetry recitals, author interactions, book launches, and other literary programs. A dedicated Children’s Corner will include storytelling sessions and competitions to inspire young readers. As an annual tradition, the fair continues to foster a reading habit and create a vibrant platform for writers and publishers alike.
