Complete list of Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Vibhushan recipients for the 2025 Padma Awards
The winners of the prized Padma Awards were revealed by the central government on Saturday.
Every year on the eve of Republic Day, India announces the Padma Awards, one of its highest civilian honors.
Padma Vibhushan (for extraordinary and distinguished service), Padma Bhushan (for distinguished service of higher degree), and Padma Shri (for distinguished service) are the three categories in which the awards are bestowed.
The award aims to honor accomplishments in any discipline or area of endeavor with a public service component. The Padma Awards Committee, which the prime minister annually appoints, makes recommendations that lead to the awarding of the Padma Awards.
The government has given out 113 Padma Shri, 19 Padma Bhushan, and 7 Padma Vibhushan awards this year. At a formal ceremony conducted at Rashtrapati Bhawan, often in March or April each year, the President bestows these honors.
