Novelist and Poet T P Rajeevan Passed Away at 63
Novelist and poet T P Rajeevan passed away at a private hospital in Kozhikode late Wednesday night. He was under treatment for kidney-related ailments. He was 63. His novels ‘Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha‘ and ‘KTN Kottoor: Ezhuthum Jeevithavum‘, among other literary works, had won critical acclaim. Both the novels were later adapted as movies.
Rajeevan, who used to write in both Malayalam and English, had published eight poetry collections and also a travelogue ‘Purappettu Poya Vakku’. He had won the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for ‘KTN Kottor: Ezhuthum Jeevithavum’ in 2014. Hailing from Paleri in Kozhikode, he had worked as a journalist in New Delhi and had served as Public Relations Officer in Calicut University.
