Before starting a book, Twinkle Khanna explains why she calls her sister Rinke Khanna: She is my book buddy.
Tuesday, Twinkle Khanna posted a lovely remark for her sister Rinke Khanna, who is her “book buddy.” The former actor-turned-writer shared a video in which she explained that she always calls her sister before beginning a novel. Since Rinke reads more than she does, Twinkle said, her sister’s assurances help her make the best decision.
“I often call my sister before I start a new book. She reads more than me and I suspect faster as well. If she says it’s great then I feel reassured,” Twinkle wrote on Instagram. The actor added that aside from science-fiction, which she loves and Rinke ‘can’t bear’, they tend to read similar books.
“We also talk about books a lot:) Writers sometimes write about the things they can’t say to the people around them unless they are gift-wrapped in the form of fiction. We are not demonstrative. My sister and I. Hugs are given gingerly and jibes are our version of kisses. Yet within most of the stories I write, a pair of devoted sisters always stare back at me from a stack of printed pages,” Twinkle added.
The Mela actor continued by stating that her sister Rinke is not just her “book buddy,” but also her “secret keeper.” Additionally, she urged followers to mention their book companion in the comments.
With Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi, Rinke Khanna made her acting debut. She then appeared in films like Yeh Hai Jalwa and Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rehta Hai. Prior to starting her own business and writing novels, Twinkle Khanna also had a brief acting career. She is married to Akshay Kumar, and together they have two children: Aarav, a son, and Nitara, a daughter.
